Why Workshare?
By Zak
The upcoming summer of 2018 will be my third season as a workshare at Teton Full Circle Farm. There are several words that come to mind as I contemplate my time spent at and around the farm. First, the COMMUNITY that has been instilled around the Valley is absolutely remarkable and will keep me coming back year after year. The people I have worked beside over the last two seasons have become some of my closest friends in Teton Valley.

The next word that comes to mind is FOOD! I have become passionate about food over the last ten years and have been chasing quality of food for the last 8 years. The treatment of this piece of land allows us to harvest the most incredible food from the ground. This food, from what I have found is unrivaled in color, quality, and taste. We do things differently than most (using biodynamic practices) at Teton Full Circle Farm and this allows for the soil to be optimal for the plants we are working with and for.

The last word that comes to mind is LOVE. The amount of love that pours into this farm is what got it up and running, and will continue to keep this farm going for many years to come. This all starts with Ken & Erika and the dream that they shared. Over the years they have brought this dream into reality and have allowed many people to continue to provide the love that it takes to provide for a piece of land. Working at Teton Full Circle has been nothing but positive experiences since day one and I am truly inspired to continue farming and gardening at Teton Full Circle Farm. I am very excited to see what the coming years bring, and we will see you all out there in the fields!

Why Workshare?
By Ann
I love my workshare at Teton Full Circle Farm for the sense of community. Whether it is time spent with my fellow workshare friends each week at the farm, washing and prepping veggies with Erika in the processing tent, learning about healthy soil from Ken in the greenhouse, sharing a farm lunch at the end of a shift or helping bring in the week's harvest for the CSA members and farmer's markets I feel I am doing my part for the greater good of our community. I enjoy going to the farm each week knowing that I am helping to ensure Teton Valley's local organic food movement.
Erika and Ken have taught me so much about our planet, biodynamic farming, the food we eat and shouldn't eat :) I have pulled weeds, planted starts and shoveled manure with some of the best people I know! Each workshare day rewards me with fresh air, the satisfaction of hard work, new challenges, good company, a hearty farm lunch, and of course a bushel full of local biodynamic vegetables for my family!
It is a win/win situation for you! Feel good about stepping up and supporting your local farmer, reap the benefits of getting your hands dirty and your fridge full of healthy veggies!

Ann has been a super solid workshare since 2014. Ann lives near the farm and helps us year round with odds and ends. This kind of community involvement and commitment is critical to the sustainabily of a small farm. Thank you Ann!

Why Workshare?
By Christine
As the winter months grow colder, I find myself beside the kitchen stove, contemplating whether to bake one of two pumpkins remaining from the final farm share of the season. Longing for sunnier days and the anticipation of each week’s bountiful harvest, I cherish the last remaining pumpkins, carrots and potatoes — along with the many varieties I have become more proficient in putting up for the long winter months ahead.
Experiencing four seasons as a volunteer on Full Circle Farm, and, one as an intern, my passion for local, organic practices has grown tenfold. Erika and Ken have become close friends and mentors of mine, and I can’t begin to express my gratitude for all of their wisdom and hard work. Their passion and knowledge of Organic, Bio-dynamic farming is contagious, and I can’t imagine a summer without time spent on the farm.
As this country of ours continues in a state of turmoil, it’s easy to become apathetic and feel seemingly helpless. I truly believe that finding a niche in a grass-roots movement like that of Full Circle Farm, is the one of the best ways to make a difference. Creating change at the local level is so important, and I am so happy to be part of a community who truly cares about the ground we walk on. Garnering a strong sense of community, and spending a day in dirt with like-minded individuals, certainly can’t be beat!
I can’t wait for another season on the farm and am so excited to see what the new farm land will eventually bring. To a handful of soft, powdery turns as we await a coming prosperous season on the farm. Cheers!!!

Why Workshare?
By Erica Rice
In my regular life, I’m a marketing consultant. If you don’t know what that means, the short story is a lot of sitting and a lot of screen time. My weekly shift at Teton Full Circle is my way of unplugging, moving around, playing in the dirt, and getting fresh air.  As a businessperson, I love seeing how other small businesses work. Thanks to Erika and Ken, I’ve learned (and keep learning) about how much it takes to get those radishes to market and onto the dinner table. Thanks guys!

Aside from the biz end of things, I am an avid gardener who likes to experiment. I’ve absorbed so much knowledge and confidence about how and what to garden from Full Circle. My home garden is without a doubt better and more exciting (read: variety! flourishing!) because of my experience there. I am also a vegetarian, so getting a pile of vegetables at the end of a day’s work doesn’t hurt.

My favorite Farmer Erika anecdote:
Me: “I’m sure people ask you all the time- ‘What do I do with this?’”
Farmer Erika: “Yep. And you know what I tell them?”
Me: “What?”
Farmer Erika: “Just eat it!”

And now for some favorites:
Toniest jobs on the farm: Radish washing and greenhouse duty.
Favorite veg I never ate before working at Full Circle: Pea shoots!
Favorite crop to harvest: Potatoes!
Best recipe discovery this year: Blue Cheese Kolrahbi Salad.

'Going to the farm, seeing friendly faces, putting your hands in the earth is the best therapy and provides so much joy far beyond the farm.  The season is a progression, you plant, you weed, you cut things and see them regrow, the farm is resourceful and truly feeds the mind, body and spirit! Workshare Commitment
PictureCeleste was a workshare at the Farm for 2 years and now is a workshare substitute. Committed subs also play a very important role on the farm throughout the season.
'My experience working at Teton Full Circle Farm as a workshare during the 2014 season was excellent.  Erika and Ken's passion is evident in the beauty of their garden; I delighted in joining them each week.
I loved being able to contribute to a working biodynamic farm that provides gorgeous and nutritious food to CSA members and workshares.  It also afforded me a much needed break from working on the computer, while learning about biodynamic farming in Teton Valley, meeting other like-minded people, and being physically active.  Erika and Ken have ergonomic tips for working in the garden to help keep you working strong.
Besides taking home a full share of vegetables (starting in June), a yummy and hearty lunch is provided at the end of each work day.  Consider making the commitment to yourself and your community by becoming a workshare this farming season.'
